Dozo Dog Astoria

We couldn’t be happier with Dozo Dog and are so glad we found them!! Our rescue Doberman (Potato) needs a little extra patience and understanding, and Louis and the team have truly gone above and beyond for him! They take their time to make sure he feels safe - they helped him acclimatize at his own pace having not been in daycare before. We even appreciate when they have to be firm or put him in a little timeout so he can reset - we fully trust their judgment. They’re consistent, they reinforce the right behaviors, and it’s exactly what he needs so he can socialize and play comfortably with other dogs. What really stands out is how much the staff genuinely care... You can see it in the way they interact with the dogs, the attention they give, and the dedication they put into making sure every dog has a good experience, especially Potato!! We’re extremely grateful for how they’ve embraced our boy, and we’re so happy to have found a place we trust. We love how they send us photos during his time with them and are always very responsive if we ever need to get in touch. p.s. I would highly suggest Dozo to anyone for day care or boarding! We love Dozo so much and so does our sweet pup, Matilda. Not only does everyone there know Matilda by name, they know her personality, and which dogs are her friends. We get photos every time she’s there, and every single time it looks like she’s having the time of her life. She’s posing in May of these pictures with her bestie, Bagel. She lights up when she realizes we’re heading to Dozo and she’s sad to leave. When we go on trips and board her at Dozo we get nightly photos of her in her bed with her toy. We know she’s in great hands. It makes travel that much easier knowing she’s well taken care of. The people who work there are so kind and generous and genuine. I’m so grateful for them and for the love they show Matilda! Each one of them is incredibly cheerful and easy to talk to. They’ve recently undergone a renovation and worked tirelessly to make sure that no dog was left behind while they made updates to this location. Thank you Dozo!!

My toy australian shepard, Lulu Maria, and I love this place. I use dozo dog’s day care and over night services—they always take good care of her and send me the cutest picture of my girl. My dog is a nervous around other dogs, but with the help of dozo dogs they helped her make friends and enjoy her time there. They also have great grooming services, giving me my puppy back nice and groomed. I really like the staff and the establishment.

We’ve been bringing our dog Harper to Dozo the last five years or so and I cannot even express how much we love it, Harper especially! Whether it’s daycare or grooming with Amanda, every service is spectacular. They accommodate requests with pick ups and drop offs, which we appreciate and is super helpful if we won’t be home for a bit after a drop off. My husband and I also enjoy events that we can participate in. Dozo dog has a special place in our hearts and I recommend the spot to all my dog friend pawrents! Thank you to Louis and the crew for loving our boy so much ❤️

First time getting my long haired chichi groomed here and they knocked it out the park! They were able to get my dog in for appointment quickly and were quick but thorough with the service! The groomer, Amanda was such a sweetheart and Jorge at the desk was very welcoming! And of course, my dog looked and smelled amazing and came out with the most adorable autumn themed bow tie collar! Prices were in-line with what I’ve paid for many years (full grooming with bath, haircut and the gland care add-on) - would recommend to anyone in the area looking to freshen up their pup!

Our little man Churro has a second home at Dozo. From Daycare to grooming to boarding, it’s the only place we trust to give him the same care and affection that we do. Yukako and Louis have always gone above and beyond to keep Churro safe and happy. He gets the VIP treatment without knowing that all of the get the same level of care and attention. When we have to go out of town, as much as I miss Churro, I know he’s in excellent hands with his favorite people at Dozo. Plus, I don’t have to guess how he’s doing because they keep their cameras available at all times and send regular updates so I know he’s happy, healthy and having a blast. I cannot recommend Dozo enough to give you peace of mind that your puppet is loved and cuddled while you’re away!

Watson is generally an anxious pup, but he really loves going to Dozo Dog. They provide a safe environment for him to make friends and play with the other dogs, and give him lots of cuddles and individual attention when he gets overwhelmed. The staff are very warm and experienced, which makes me feel comfortable leaving Watson with them; and their photo updates throughout the day always let me know he's having fun. Amanda is also a fantastic groomer! She gives Watson baths and haircuts regularly, and he always looks so fresh and handsome when I pick him up. I highly recommend Dozo Dog for daycare, boarding, and grooming.
