Barkefellers - Indianapolis South

We have been sending our dogs to doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, etc at Barkefellers South Indy for the past 8 years. We have spent thousands of dollars there. This past weekend we picked our dog up from a week of boarding. A couple nights later when I was brushing him, I noticed he had two puncture wounds that had been crusting over with pus coming out of one. I cut the hair and cleaned them off to find two puncture wounds, see photo. Before we picked up our dog, we paid for him to have a bath. The person bathing him noticed a mat on his tail but not these marks that were probably bleeding? I think the most concerning part is that when I went to touch Sonny in these areas, there was some resistance so I feel like between letting him out, play times, feedings, and so on there would have had to be someone that noticed him hurt or noticed blood dripping? I’m sure Barkefellers doesn’t care, but after this, we will not be going back which is unfortunate. I’m disappointed and sad and will be looking elsewhere to give our business to. Mind you, this visit for our dog to board for 6 nights was almost $500 so this is highly disappointing.

So pleased with grooming service for my 92 lb. long haired German shepherd, Groot. Hand dried through 2 coats, so soft and not stressed. . He was a show stopper before Tracy did her magic, but he is absolutely phenomenal and ready for his close up now!! Happy owner here.

I've used Barkerfellars for doggy day care and now for grooming and each time it just gets easier and better. Staff always friendly and greets you coming in and going out. It's a one stop shop for your pet(s). I'm happy.

So I take both of my dogs to get their nails done here and the past two times I have taken them has not been a good experience. Today I took them in and they took our first dog in to get her nails done, and she can be a lot to handle when it comes to getting her nails trim but they have always been able to get them done. She was maybe back there for two minutes and the girls walks her back out to us and says "we can’t do her, she is freaking out to much". Mind you I told to girl that took her back what they usually have to do and the girl never attempted to try that. Also she was very rude when she brought her back out to us. Then she takes our 8 year old German Shepherd to get her nails done and you can see right though the glass. As the girl is working on her she is basically trying to man handle my dog. If you are to take your dogs there to get groomed or get nails done, I would avoid the girl with pink hair. And ask her Ava. Ava has always been able to get both of the girls nails done and is super sweet and great with my two.

They always do a wonderful job with grooming services, even with our pup being anxious. Love how much you can customize, and each groomer we’ve worked with has been very caring and considerate. Cut always comes out well, no skin irritation or cuts, and a happy boy comes out to us after each visit!

Our Dash has stayed at Barkefellers South several times and gets groomed monthly there. We have been very pleased with the individual attention and care they have shown. Any concern or issue has been immediately addressed by the owner and we greatly appreciate the team effort of working together to keep our Dash safe and happy. Thank you again for caring for our Dash each month and also during his boarding times with you!!! We appreciate your hard work and caring!

Took my puppy Ember in to Barkefellers for boarding and training for two weeks while I was in Colorado. After I returned and picked up my little furry friend. She was a different dog! I have continued to train her at home with the instructions that barkefellers sent with me. She is doing very well! She listens to me more closely and follows every command. She is all around just a more behaved dog. I highly recommend! Thank you, Barkefellers!
