Originally left a review in January but removed it in an effort to give Camp Bow Wow Lawrence the benefit of the doubt. Though, after months of reflecting and revisiting facts of my experiences and the lasting effects they have had on my relationship with my dog, I feel most obligated to reshare my perspective. My experience with the (Level 2) training program was disappointing. The trainer's approach often felt passive-aggressive rather than supportive. On more than one occasion, my dog was abruptly taken from me to demonstrate a technique instead of explaining the process and working with us collaboratively. Those interactions left me uncomfortable, and since that time, my dog has become noticeably more clingy and sensitive when separated from me, even briefly. I enrolled because I was seeking professional guidance and a positive training environment. Instead, I left feeling uneasy about how both my dog and I were treated. I ultimately terminated the training services before completing the package. Otherwise, the front desk often finds themselves hostile upon customer service encounters, though I have experienced more of a distrust for this entity for various reasons. Others may have different experiences, but based on my own, I cannot recommend the training services.
There is plenty of parking and the shop is very inviting to walk into. Each employee was welcoming, friendly and gentle with my dog when I arrived. I have had my dog groomed here many times, but this time I took him in for an interview in anticipation of a stay during my vacation. He is a senior so just a little slower than other dogs. I stayed for a few minutes and was able to view him with other dogs about his same size on the webcams in the lobby. He looked a little lost at first, but moved about with the others within a few minutes. Looks like things went well. He didn't seam to have any anxiety. I recomend this location on Pendleton Pike for others. They have many stay packages to choose @ different price ranges. I like this place.
We came for our initial interview, it was determined that one of our dogs was not a good fit for the daycare. I was a little disappointed, but totally understood. I respect their professionalism and the fact that they were upfront with us. Safety first, and I appreciate that even though it didn’t work out for us
Camp bow wow Lawrence is an awesome place for your fur baby. My puppy Greta loves going there for her play time. She can't get in the door fast enough when she sees where she is at. Staff is awesome and tentative to all the dogs there.
We found Camp Bow Wow after not having the greatest experiences at 2 other doggy daycares. My girl boxer, Moose LOVES the staff and loves playing with the other dogs. Camp Bow Wow is clean, fun, and the groomer does a phenomenal job when bath time comes around!
The staff leave a lot to be desired. When I brought my dog in for a first-time interview, I was early so expected to wait. But they made the adjustment and were able to take him back early. Which I very much appreciated and figured they were just busy first thing in the morning so took it with a grain of salt. But when I came back to pick him up two and a half hours later the staff still barely looked me in the eye, barely talked with me to give me information. Didn't give me any explanation but just handed me a folder. And when I asked if specific information was in there I was told yes. But when I got home, in fact that information was not in the folder. It was a Saturday and there were an extremely large amount of dogs there. I'm not sure if that's typical or not. The nice thing that I do like, is that the dogs have a door they can go to an outside yard if they want to. My experience was based just on the sole visit so hopefully it was just a bad day for the staff
Just before we get moving in the vehicle, we tell gremlin you wanna go to camp Bow Wow he gets excited he’s wagging his tail and barking and making noises. He cannot wait to get there as we’re driving to the place. He knows where we’re driving too. He’s looking at the window getting more excited he cannot wait to see the doggies in there at the cat Bow Wow. We also say CBW and he knows that too what that meanshe knows how to get to Camp Bow. I figured if he got lost or if if he gets out of my house, he’ll go straight to Camp Bow Wow. He does have a chip and tags Plus they gave him bath and trim toe nails and did a pretty good job
