The Dog Shire Daycare + Training

Adding Mike into our dog walking routine has been life changing. My two dogs LOVE him. Even more importantly, Mike is a very trustworthy person. He's taught me (and my dogs) a lot about our behavior. Without him, I don't think I could walk both of my dogs on my own! Now, we can finally go out of town too because I would feel very comfortable having Mike take care of my house and my two fur babies.

Mike is an extremely knowledgeable dog trainer & care giver. His love for dogs is undeniable and he is truly dedicated to the pack! My dog began training with Mike about 4+ years ago. At the time my dog was having a hard time being around other dogs, aggressive towards other dogs on leash and needed all around structure. Mike has put a tremendous amount of time and patience working with my dog and we couldn’t be more grateful. Over the years Mike has cared for my dog on a regular basis 2-3 times a week, as well as overnight & extended visits. During these times my dog was in and off medication as well as specialized diets and Mike never had an issue and always followed instructions. I cannot express how grateful my family is to have a safe and structured trainer who at times (child birth, LA fire evacuations) has last minute made time and space for us. I would highly recommend Mike and his dog training and daycare.

My husband and i have known Mike for almost a decade. i honestly wouldn't trust the care of our two dogs to anyone else . when we leave our Dogs with Mike, i can feel completely comfortable going away knowing they are in great hands. he will often send pictures of our pups which i always love when traveling! He also walks my youngest with his pack every day during the week, and she is now the most happy and socialized dog! she just loves her friends she walks with; and she adores Mike. he has changed our dogs' lives and ours - i cannot recommend him highly enough!

First, let me start by saying that Mike is the best dog walker, trainer, overnight stays in my house that I’ve ever had. Second, he is literally a dog whisperer. My dogs love him, possibly more than they love me, when he shows up. My girl, Stella, is by the front door every day waiting for Mike to arrive. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed cause he’s that good.

Mike is awesome. My otherwise introverted Irishdoodle adores him while shunning others. Mike was the first trainer that she really bonded with and that bond is so important for her ability to learn! She is stubborn and needs to want to please her trainer in order to learn something. Mike really got to know her and learned her quirks. She responded with happiness and willingness to stay with him and to learn from him. I have to say that it means the world to have her actually happy to go to daycare/school. I absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend working with Mike and Dog Shire.

My husband and I met Mike almost four years ago when we were looking for daycare, training and boarding for Willie, our Maltipoo. I kid that Mike is Willie’s favorite person, but it’s very accurate. Willie’s a sensitive little guy, and Mike’s laid back approach is perfect. Willie thoroughly enjoys his pack walks with Mike, and my husband and I look forward to exploring all the Dog Shire has to offer.

My husband and I met Mike almost five years ago when we enrolled our sweet, sometimes anxious, dog in daycare. Since then, we have expanded our work with Mike for boarding, training, and walks as he quickly became one of the most trusted, knowledgeable, and effective carers for our dog. Multiple members of our family used to be scared of dogs, and after training sessions with Mike, they have all bonded with Frodo - now my Dad walks Frodo when he comes to visit, and my brother adopted his own dog! Mike is generous with his advice and guidance, helping us be more confident pet parents and deepen our relationship with our dog. Most importantly, Frodo is always happy to see Mike!
