We made a reservation for our 2 dogs to stay for a few days and ended up having to cancel (prior to 30 days), they kept our $50 deposit and claim it's been too long to refund it. I was told to leave it on deposit for future stays and that never happened so when I went to get the refund, they refused. Isn't that illegal? I'm happy my dogs found a good pet sitter, that place stinks and the two times I was there, the dogs barked continually, they would have been traumatized. If you care about your pets, I would think twice before leaving your pets there.
My dog has been boarded and groomed here for almost two years; staff is engaged and friendly with your pet but also with you. They recognize you when you walk in the door and will give thorough updates on your pet’s stay. Every time my pup comes home he’s extra snoozy from playing so much! Highly recommend this business for boarding and grooming.
Great place for daycare, boarding and grooming! Teddy loves going and is always excited. They do fun activities around holidays for daycare pups too! We would recommend over and over!
We had a sudden death in the family and had to drive halfway across the country on a last minute trip. We had just gotten a kitten a couple months prior, and he was not quite ready to be left home with someone coming by to check on him daily. Happy Trails was recommended by our vet as a possible boarding solution. When I called, they were very polite and understanding. They made the process easy and were to accommodate us on a last minute notice. While there, he received very good care. Prices were also very reasonable. Highly recommend!
I love boarding my dogs here! My dogs are both…kinda terrible. Everybody at this facility is so understanding about their issues. They let me know how my dogs did during their stay without trying to cushion it or downplaying issues. They seem to really understand dogs and dog behaviour. One of the employees is actually an ex-trainer with a facility my dogs are currently working with! It feels good knowing my dogs and everybody around them are safe when I have to be out of town.
Took my two dogs here three times over the last year for overnight boarding, between 1-3 nights. The first time went just fine, although it is pretty expensive compared to other boarding places I've used. If I remember correctly, it's an extra cost per dog to have play time outside of the kennels, which seemed... strange. I went back because I really wanted to like them, so the second time I used them I got my boys and they were absolutely off the walls crazy. Like they hadn't bet let out to run all day, crazy. Usually on the drive back from boarding they're passed out in the car. Also, I always measure out exactly how much food they need when I board them and separate it into meals for each of my dogs and they gave me food back, which was strange as there shouldn't have been any leftover. The last time I took them turned me off entirely from ever going back. I came to pick up my boys and they handed me back their bed (a pretty thin bed, just like a basic crate liner really) soaked in pee, wrapped in a trash bag, and said "They peed on this and it's not big enough to fit in our washer." First off, my dogs haven't peed the bed in YEARS and they're extremely used to boarding, so not sure why one day they'd randomly decide to do that unless it's because they haven't been let out in a while. Secondly, you're telling me you're a dog spa and boarding facility and you can't fit a really basic and thin bed in your washer? My washer is probably 30 years old and it fit in there just fine. Seemed like they just didn't really care and they didn't even try. Also that last time I took them, after I dropped off my boys and walked back out to my car I sat in the parking lot and listened to one of my dogs howl and bark nonstop for probably 5-7 minutes, which upset me. Was there nobody there to greet them? Do they just bring the dogs back to the yard when they get there even if nobody is outside to watch them or play with them? In general, everyone I've spoken with has been nice, but the place just gives me red flags and turns my stomach. They claim to have 24/7 working cameras but each time I boarded my dogs, I tried to find them on the cameras and not once was I able to see them. Not even in the play yards, which BTW, look empty pretty much all the time. Last thing I'll say is since I stopped taking my dogs here, I've heard horror stories of staff kicking dogs and getting caught on camera, and then management not doing anything about it. I just don't trust this place and I think for what you're already paying, you shouldn't have to pay extra for more play time and attention.
I am new to doodle grooming, having just gotten a doodle mix from a shelter, who was found as a stray. I brought my dog here for his first spa day. It went well and I very much enjoyed the experience. I was happy because I had thought I found people to take my dogs to. Then I made the mistake of trying to groom him myself, as I was curious what it would take to do so. That was a disaster, so I immediately decided never to do that again and simply make reoccurring appointments with the groomer. However, when I made an appointment on Wednesday, the only day that works for me and also the day they told me would be best because they weren't as busy as they are in Saturday's, the groomer "left early" as her husband was in a "car accident". (Could be true, but highly unlikely after the experience I've now had with them.) So my dog had to go yet another month or so, without being groomed and he direly needed it. The next Wednesday appointment I made was for yet another Wednesday. This time I made the appointment for both my dogs. The second dog is easy maintenance. (Labrador kind of maintenance) They called me a couple days later wanting to change my doodles spa day to a Monday and keep my seconds dogs grooming day that same Wednesday. On a day they told me no other dogs were scheduled at all. So when I went ahead and changed my doodles to Monday, only because I had happened to take that Monday off for vacation, they seemed to be... disappointed? Confused? Whatever the word, it was not how they thought that would go. A few days later I called again to go ahead and set up reoccurring appointments on Wednesdays for my doodle, every 6 to 8 weeks out from each other. I was told that Wednesdays are not available for the foreseeable future. (Yet they had no problem with my second dog on a Wednesday.) I was curious, because the way each employee acts, what the real story is with Wednesdays. I had a friend call to make Wednesday appointments, and guess what!?! She is able to schedule a spa day on Wednesdays. 🤔 I don't know what their problem is. I have been nothing but nice to these people and tip well. Apparently they have zero tolerance to a new doodle owner who is learning? That's all I can chalk it up to. A snotty groomer, willing to leave a dog that direly needs grooming, ungroomed because she's too good to groom my dog. They say they don't judge. They do. I haven't had this dog for very long and he is a shelter dog, found as stray. He needed a home with an older dog to look up to, as described by the shelter. So I guess screw me. I do not recommend Happy Trails. Also, my second did not get the daycare I asked for. The second he clearly got ZERO exercise. Like they had him cooped up all day instead of let him run around. I know my dog. The second dog I've had for years. I know the difference between running around all day and being cooped up all day. Do not use this establishment. They will try and get over on you. For future reference, if you are truly down a groomer, the correct response is: "Unfortunately we are down a groomer and cannot book anything for Wednesdays." NOT: "We will not book Wednesdays for the foreseeable future." Like a snotty little brat who thinks they are the only business in town and customs have no choice. We have choices. You are no longer my choice. No, I will not come in Sunday's, when I have no other reason to be in Colorado, to sit in your parking lot for an unforeseeable amount of time, to twidle my thumbs while I wait. Sunday's are taken, hiking with my dogs. No, I will not cancel all 8 of my clients on Mondays to work around YOUR schedule. I can afford this because I work. If I do not work, I cannot afford it. Wednesdays are the day I can come in.
