PetSmart Doggie Day Camp

Our dogs love it, BUT if your dogs have any kind of skin allergy problems, get a certificate from your vet saying they don't have ring worm or any fungal infection. Ours, like many dogs in SA, have skin problems. We showed them to the intake person, told them it was allergies, that why the dogs were taking the medication, they said that it was fine. Left them on a Monday, Tuesday through Friday no problems. On Saturday a.m. get a phone call, their dog walker thinks one of your dogs might have ring worm, your vet is closed, our vet is closed, we must take them to emergency vet to be assessed. Later ER vet says doesn't look like ring worm but it might be fungal, you must remove your dogs today. We were on vacation in NJ coming home Sunday morning to pick them up in less than 24 hours. "No they can't stay", we had to call neighbors to pick them up. So after $300 ER vet, $400 to our vet for the full testing for ring worm and other problems , turns put they had nothing. It almost seems like a scam with ER vet, they were fine for 5 days, on the 6th day when vets are closed, they suddenly have a problem requiring an ER Visit. Our vet initially used a black light test to see if any thing looked fungal, it didn't. Asked ER if they did black light test, they said they didn't have one. If you must leave your dogs, and they have itchy spots, spend the money to have your vet certify your dog as having nothing more than allergies.
