Arch City Dog Boarding

This review is overdue! Shelly and Arch City Dog boarding are fabulous. I am an over-protective dog mama and have had disappointing experiences in the past with other boarding facilities and pet sitters. I was determined to find the best "dog people" for our new cairn terrier puppy Archie. Arch City is it. Shelly truly cares about your dog. You can tell each time you talk to her that she has enthusiasm and love for what she does and backs that up with knowledge and experience. She has a comprehensive online care profile for each dog that she reviews every time you visit. She schedules drop off and pick up appointments to minimize stress on your dog (and you!), which means there is never a long chaotic and potentially unsafe line at the door. She only takes a small number of dogs at a time to make sure she’s able to provide the best care to your pet. The dogs get playtime and exercise in her outdoor yards and/or spacious indoor area. The online booking system is convenient and easy to use. I could go on and on. Archie has had two stays with Shelly and I can tell the care he received while we were gone was top notch. I am so relieved to have found this special place. We will never board anywhere else.

When I tell you I toured and interrogated every dog boarding facility in the area, I am not exaggerating. I am an anxious dog mom who typically tries to have someone I know personally stay at my house, maintain their routine exactly, and adhere to a several page print out of all my dog's weird quirks. All this to say, I'm so grateful to have found Arch City for when that's not an option. She had answers for all my worst case scenarios and it was very clear that she was detailed oriented and had plans in place. I appreciate the option to get photos sent too and they always look happy. When I dropped them off last time they were excited to go, so I know they are treated well.

Shelly and the staff at Arch City are lifesavers. My pup Colonel has anxiety issues, and we previously has issues with another boarder, so we weren’t sure what to do. Arch City came highly recommended from our trainer at Stray Rescue, and we will never go anywhere else. Shelly and her team specialize in dogs with anxiety and nervousness and are a godsend. Arch City worked one-on-one with Colonel to help him get settled in and worked with me to settle my own nervous dog parent woes. Shelly is easy to communicate with, super transparent, and I know that heaven forbid anything were to happen, she would give my pup the same level of care and attention I would. Colonel loves Arch City too! The moment he sees the building, he knows exactly where he is and could not care less about saying bye- he loves Shelly and his friends at Arch City. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

I love the small time feel of the kennel and the fact Shelly/staff go out of the way to make sure your dog is loved and well taken care of. Furthermore, communication is key, and I always feel informed on what I need to do as well as how my dog's stay went. Lastly, I feel the boarding rates are very reasonable.

I have a new rescue pup who loves to play but has a really hard time being alone and struggles with some anxiety so I was looking for a special place to board him where he would get a lot of personalized attention and that would not have a large number of dogs. Arch City Dog Boarding has been the perfect fit. Shelly went above and beyond getting to know our dog's needs and we love her philosophy of small play groups with lots of rest, enrichment, and fun. So grateful to find this great option to care four sweet pup when we have to leave town.

5-star service! I recently used Arch City to care for my dog while I was traveling to Puerto Rico for 6 days. The assessment process with Shelly was smooth and thorough - she asked all the right questions to ensure my dog's needs were met. I was especially impressed that they accepted my dog despite not being spayed, and Shelly's patience and understanding with my dog's anxiety issues put my mind at ease. The referral from my neighbor was spot on - their dog required extra attention and the team delivered. I loved that I didn't receive any unnecessary phone calls while on vacation, but when I returned, I was greeted by an excited pup who clearly missed me! I'll definitely be using this service again - highly recommended!
