K9 Kabins

We just picked up our two pups from Nikki's care at K9 Kabins off McKee Rd in Tony/Harvest area for the first time. We dropped them off for 11 nights while our family went on vacation and couldn't be more pleased with the whole interaction - from drop-off to pickup and the care they received while we were away. This is a sort of family homestead / one-of-a-kind Dog Boarding operation and very much worth the 45 min drive (coming from Huntsville). The photos attached to this review all came from Nikki that she posted on their "K9 Kabins of North Alabama" FB page during their stay. They have a wonderful 20 acres fenced, where they take daily walks together as a group on wooded trails but also wide open spaces to play. At present, they only care for up to 14 dogs at a time and the kennels are all very spacious. Our two pups shared a large sized kennel together, by request & Nikki/her family were able to ensure our pups received their daily joint supplements. K9 Kabins is our new go-to pet caretakers while we're out of town & couldn't recommend them more.

My girls absolutely love Nikki and K9 Kabins. My girls are both fairly high energy dogs who don’t do well in your typical boarding facility but this place is truly very different. They get lots of exercise and playtime and aren’t up unsupervised for 12-13 hours at night like most places. Every direction is followed to a T and they’re always so happy and healthy at pickup and drop off. This is truly the only place like this in north Alabama and is very worth a drive.

5 Stars – A Fantastic Experience for Both Dog and Owner! I can’t say enough good things about this kennel! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff genuinely cared about the well-being and happiness of the dogs in their care. My dog had an absolutely fantastic time—not only was she well cared for, but she also got to enjoy a true nature experience. The outdoor areas were beautiful, spacious, and perfect for dogs who love to explore and play. I received regular updates, and it was clear my dog was having the time of her life—running, playing, and making new friends. It felt more like a vacation for her than just a boarding stay. The staff were friendly, professional, and very responsive to any questions or special instructions. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a loving, active, and nature-filled environment for their furry friend. We’ll definitely be back!

The only place I will take my big ole floofs!! They’re so happy at drop off and I know they’re gonna have a great time. They get to run, explore, and learn! Love that I can check in via text whenever and love all the pics and videos we get of them out playing.

We absolutely LOVE this place and so do both of our dogs! Our oldest can be anxious and a little "weird" at times, but the staff handled her personality with so much patience, care, and understanding. They followed every direction we left to an absolute T, which gave us so much peace of mind. The enrichment activities, hikes, and true quality outside time she received were above and beyond anything you’d get at a typical boarding facility. Their pricing is incredibly reasonable for the level of care they provide, and Luna even came home freshly bathed, happy, healthy, and relaxed. We are so grateful to have a place we trust this much — highly recommend!

Your pups will be very happy and well taken care of! Such a nice property and set up. Fully fenced, trails on property, high fenced area for the athletic dogs (not mine) :o), you or your pet will not be disappointed! UPDATE: close to a year later we still take our pup out twice a week and he's still loving every minute!

Nikki is fantastic and took great care of our dog while we were on vacation. Usually if I have to leave him at those traditional boarding places he gets skinny because he doesn’t eat very much when he’s away from the family. When I picked him up from K9 Kabins he was fat and happy. I could tell he felt at home. He loved the farm and almost didn’t want to leave. Definitely recommend K9 Kabins and Nikki for anyone looking for dog care.
