Dog's Best Friend & The Cat's Meow

Tomoko and Kumi are the best at grooming my dog. Very professional and experienced groomers especially for bedlington terrier.

We drive from the city to Albany every six weeks because these are the only folks I’ve met who consistently get the bedlington terrier cut just right. We’ve spent years trying out groomers, returning to find our dogs with mohawks, poodle cuts, and almost there but not quite bedlington cuts. DBF&TCM always nails it. We finally have a sense of safety and trust here.

The pic below shows both before and after grooming. I don’t think they even did anything apart from trimming his paw hair and the nails. He looks exactly the same before and after . Rachel (groomer) I don’t know what she did on my pet apart from bathing and combing he was ready to pick up within 45min. He does not even look like got a hair trimmed around his neck, back and tail. And they changed me extra 25$for handling my dog. total 125$. He is trained emotional support dog who don’t even bark unless he sense threat. This guy at reception said my dog didn’t let them use hair dryer becoz it’s too hot. I mean if the heat is unbearable ofcos ryt? They were done with him in 45min. As per text msg they sent us to pickup my pet. Any groomer can tell 40min is very short for total grooming which includes haircut. I feel like they totally scammed me This time. It’s my 3rd visit with them I thought they give nice service coz of which I also referred few of my other friend who have pets but I’m very upset with their service today.

Knowing Kumi (owner) as a fabulous groomer, when asked to bring two Bichons as models for several Master Groomers being hosted from Japan, I jumped at the chance. I drove from Placerville, CA in the Sierra foothills to be in Albany. Kumi and Miki did a complete bath, blow dry, comb out and scissor cut for my two Bichons. They were sheer perfection. I am most grateful as they were entered in a dog show two days later in Vallejo. My baby girl got the best haircut from here. Yes it will take about 4-5 hours but that is their routine. She is a wheaten terrier so it is very important to find a groomer who know how cut her hair the right way.

If I could give 11 stars, I would. The kind folks at Dog's Best Friend have been grooming my animals for years and I can't say enough about them. They've been careful and darling to my anxious dogs and my irascible, often-in-pain, ancient cat (back when they groomed cats). Not only do my pets come home clean, but they come home CALM, and I know that everyone at DBF has been keeping an eye on their well-being. HIGHLY recommend. Thank you, all!

This is one of the pre-eminent grooming salons in the country. We are so lucky to have Nancy Hahn and Company here in the bay area. This is not only a five star salón but the people who work there are all Five Star people, the nicest and most conscientious people that I have met in a very long time. Here’s my story with DBF&TCM: I was referred to Dog’s Best Friend And The Cat’s Meow from the breeder of my new puppy, a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, I immediately made an appointment so that my puppy could become familiarized with the grooming process. When I picked my puppy up she was so happy, not about seeing me, but about where she had been all day. After that great experience, for the next 14 years, my wheaten terrier would be groomed at these fabulous groomers salón, most of the time. There were times when I simply could not get to Dog’s’s Best Friend and the Cat’s Meow, and I was forced to use a different groomer. My Wheaton hated being groomed by any other grooming company. Whereas being groomed at DBFTCM my dog would always come out just beautifully groomed (show ready) and as happy as can be. At any other groomers she looked like the groomer had no idea what they were doing and it took months for the hair to grow out correctly. But most importantly my lovely Wheaton would always I be miserable when I picked her up from any other groomer.
