PetSmart Grooming

We have been taking our pup here for a few months, and they’ve been great with adhering to her boundaries while also returning a shiny new pup usually! One con is sometimes it seems like sometimes they use very dehydrating products on her, I’m not sure what they are, and can increase dander. It’s not every time, so I’m not sure what it is? Definitely not a dealbreaker though, love the staff there!

I requested a full groom which is something my dog has done before with no problems and then they only did a wash and blow but my dog came back to me fully wet with his harness on incorrectly.

This place is terrible. They use slip leads and when I confronted an employee about it, the employee using one on a husky said "it’s a slip lead, it’s meant to choke them". And yes it is, but she didn’t also put a front paw in the lead to prevent actual choking. Do not send your dogs here. They may die. If you love your dog, go elsewhere, and if you find a good groomer let me know. This isn’t even my dog and I’m absolutely horrified at PetSmart’s behavior

I want to give 1 star to this grooming. When I arrived the manager spoke to me rudely and arrogantly. She said that they will wash my chihuahua for 2 hours it’s too long for grooming chihuahua, because everything what I needed it wash my dog, dry her, trim her nails and clean her teeth and ears! And after picking up my dog I discovered that the groomer didn't brush my dog's teeth and ears. Today was the worst grooming experience day ever! I sincerely do not recommend this service!

I had a very disappointing experience at PetSmart Grooming. After my dog’s bath, he was clearly uncomfortable and unhappy. They shaved the hair on his belly extremely short, and the hair around his private area was shaved so closely that it became prickly and irritating. Every time he laid down, it seemed to bother him, and he immediately started licking himself constantly afterward. What’s even more frustrating is that the entire grooming appointment took less than an hour and a half from drop-off to pickup, yet I was charged an extra 30-minute brushing fee. I don’t feel the service matched the price or care that was promised. I would not recommend this location if you care about your dog’s comfort and grooming quality.

Very disappointing experience — not returning. 1. Misleading Claims About Positive Reinforcement: The groomer’s first interaction with my cat was negative and completely unwarranted: "Oh, you’re mad at me." She said. My cat wasn’t mad—she simply wanted out of the carrier. This kind of assumption contradicts their stated policy of using positive reinforcement and immediately set the wrong tone. 2. Not My Cat’s First Grooming — She’s Not Difficult: My cat has been professionally groomed many times before and is consistently described as one of the easiest clients of the day. Yes, she meows during the appointment. Yes, she may growl a bit during sensitive procedures like sanitary shaves—that’s completely normal and expected. Any experienced groomer would understand this and know how to calmly work with her. 3. Poor Handling and Unprofessionalism: I was told my cat "tried to attack," and the groomer showed me a spot on her bare palm where my cat supposedly nipped. Why was she not wearing proper protective equipment? That’s standard in this line of work. The session was cut short—no bath, not even a complete sanitary shave (which was the main reason for the visit), yet I was still charged $70. This came across more as a lack of preparedness and experience than anything else. 4. Chaotic Front Desk Operations: To top it off, when I returned their system had crashed — no way to schedule, no way to generate invoices, stood there for 10 min as they scrambled to try to look up store procedures with a manager. To be clear: the issue here was not my cat. She’s been groomed many times with no issues. The problem was the approach, attitude, and lack of readiness from the staff. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
