We love coming here and supporting a locally black family owned business. Blue Velvet sits at the corner of the bike shop on Selwyn across from Circle K. Ms. Tenniel works with her family and provides excellent customer service. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur baby. They are efficient, transparent, and put so much care into their customers 🐕. We always look forward to getting a festive bandana each visit. Support your neighborhood businesses, share and refer others to them. They will appreciate it and your fur babies will too! * 📸 Yes! Blue Velvet is the ONLY groomers I want taking care of my Charlie! They are so sweet with him & are excited to see him come in. They take time to give him his "signature Charlie eyebrows" and when I take him home, his clean scent lasts for days! I moved to Lake Wylie in January & still come in to take Charlie to the Blue Velvet. They are soooooooo worth the drive!!!

Blue Velvet is a Charlotte icon & the BEST salon for grooming toy breeds! Like my mother did before me, I have been bringing my pets here for many, many years and they always take excellent care of my babies. Although, Deborah & her parents are missed, Tenielle delivers the same great service and beautiful grooming techniques just as she has for many years. Thank you Tenielle, for being a part of this family establishment for over a decade.And for continuing the tradition at Blue Velvet Poodle Parlor!

Highly highly recommend Blue Velvet! We had a hard time finding a groomer we were comfortable with as our pup is extremely anxious and can be a difficult customer. After seeing what an amazing job they do with his cut, and how comfortable and happy our guy has become around them, we’re very grateful! Your fur baby is in great hands with this team!

We brought our dog here a few years ago. She spent the entire day at this filthy place. When we finally got the call that she was ready to be picked up her eye was obviously extremely injured. We called the groomer and they said that it’s probably just from the shampoo they use. (Obviously not). Interestingly enough, when we took our dog to the vet they concluded that this was a result of blunt head trauma. Today she still has a scar in her eye and that eye is damaged. Our dog is still terrified to go to any groomer. When you leave your dog in the hands of someone else, you would never expect them to hurt them, especially if you’re paying them for a service. I wish I could give negative stars, it’s just that bad. On top of that the owner never offered a refund or anything. It’s not about the money it’s about our dog’s safety. I usually don’t leave recommendations but I would never want this to happen to anyone else’s dog and that’s why I’m posting this.
