My reviews matter, so let’s get into this. We’ve had two negative experiences at this PetSmart with grooming services for our 8-month-old, purebred Great Dane puppy, Anubis, who is in training, non-threatening, and very playful and does cry when he want attention aka the distress. On our first visit, they couldn’t complete the nail grinding, saying "he doesn’t do well with it" and that they didn’t have two people available to assist. I took this as feedback to work on, although it was odd since Anubis enjoys foot rubs and handshakes. Still, I gave them grace for the first experience. On the second visit, the rep mentioned they’d had "trouble with him last time." I clarified that it was with the nail grinding, then asked if we could try again to help him get used to it. They agreed and asked for a few hours. Yet, only 38 minutes later, I received a call saying Anubis was distressed and couldn’t be kenneled due to "distress" and they were in fear of him hurting himself. They asked me to pick him up immediately, and while I was 30 minutes away—they called three more times because he was causing delays with other dogs by staying in the waiting area. When I arrived, they suggested he needs more training. To sum up: this groomer clearly struggles with larger breeds. There was no apology or discount for the inconvenience. If you have a smaller dog, this might be the right place for you. For larger breeds, however, I would not recommend this location (statement said with grace).
