Mud Puppies Self Serve Dog Wash

I have been going to mud puppies for years and just love this place Sarah is my groomer she does a excellent job and Kim the owner is very knowledgeable when it comes to questions about food , allergies ect . The whole stuff is very friendly I would recommend Mud Puppies .

Mud Puppies has been on my "to visit" list in Erie for forever, and we finally got a chance to go right before our out-of-state move. Had to get all the loose fur out before 4 days of sitting in a car. Great choice of shampoos, anything from whitening all the way to hypoallergenic. Got supplied with the correct brushes for our dog's fur type too. Kim talked us through every step of the process, guided on the proper and most efficient use of the high velocity fur dryer, and taught us how to desensitize our dog to the sound it makes. Very friendly atmosphere, and the staff is ready to answer any questions you might have. Bonus points for the vast choice of leave in conditioners, and a detangler spray provided at no extra cost. Mud Puppies is great for grooming my Chows before a Show. Kim, the owner, is very gracious and Alexia has been very helpful too. I highly recommend their service and they sell good food.

⭐️ ZERO STARS if I could give them! ⭐️ I brought my dog here in July 2025 for a wash and cut. At the time, he had a cone around his neck because he’d just had his ears cropped. The groomer explained she couldn’t properly cut his face with the cone on, but told me to come back once his stitches were out and she’d take care of it. Cool, I thought—that sounded reasonable. Fast forward to September 2025, I bring my dog back. Same groomer, but this time with a whole new nasty attitude. Instead of honoring what she said, she flat-out refused to do the face cut. She claimed I should’ve come back "in a week" (which she NEVER told me) and acted like she was doing me a favor by even speaking to me. First of all—how would she even know when his stitches would be ready? She’s not a vet. Second, I PAID for a service I never fully got. Third, the whispering and side-eyes from the staff? Completely unprofessional. I don’t spend my money to be disrespected. If you want your pet treated with care and if you value basic customer service, take your money elsewhere. Mud Puppies is not it. 🐾 Save yourself the headache. ZERO STARS.

Our two huskies needed a good scrub and the anxious twins always need to be together so we were a little nervous about trying a new groomer but they did sooo well! They sang in the shower as all huskies do but the self service wash was set up perfectly for us! Kim was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed, slip leads, shampoo, brushes, etc. All for an amazing price, we will deffinetly be back!!🐶🐶

Both Maxine and I missed Mud Puppies when we were living in Florida. While I was away, I found myself comparing places to Mud Puppies and never did find a place that was as nice and offered all the items and services as Mud Puppies. Very few self-service dog washing places there at all and none that had full service professional groomers, plus classes, plus good food and treats that have been carefully reviewed and chosen by such a caring, knowledgeable, and helpful person like Kimberly. You can trust that all the goodies for your dog are actually healthy for your dog if bought at Mud Puppies. Had Maxine groomed professionally by Sarah on 1/11 and Sarah did a beautiful job on her. The staff at Mud Puppies is as friendly and helpful as I remember, too. So glad I live near Mud Puppies again! (Maxine looks a little tired here--I woke her up from napping to take this picture. Cannot recommend this business enough! Kim the owner is a godsend. As a new pet owner I had a lot of questions that Kim and her staff were happy to answer. The pricing on the self serve washes are fantastic, but the value that comes from their expertise and hospitality really makes it worth a visit! The high quality food she carries is also very reasonably priced--could not be happier with my decision to bring my dog here! Will definitely be back for more regular visits!
