Petco Grooming

I have been to many grooming salons in Hamden and North Haven and the Petco in Hamden is by far the best. I have had several different dog breeds groomed there regularly and the service is always a 10! The staff in The Grooming Salon are so friendly and wonderful and do an amazing job. They are extremely knowledgeable in all things pertaining to the dogs coats and health. They always go above and beyond with suggestions and styles. Highly recommend!

Booked an appointment more than a week ago. Got requests for confirmation - showed up early and was told by the store, my reservation did not exist. When I showed them the text messages, a shrug and so when do you want to rebook? I drove my two dogs in from the Cape, 3 hours one way and arranged my schedule this week around this appointment. Rebook? Never. Mistakes happen. Own it. Fix it. Here? A shrug.

My experience was so frustrating and unprofessional that I walked out and will never return. The staff was dismissive and unhelpful when I tried to advocate for my dog’s wellbeing. I wasn’t offered any reasonable flexibility or solutions, and instead was met with a lot of resistance and upselling for things that didn’t make sense in the moment. Overall, it felt stressful and unwelcoming, and I wouldn’t trust them with my pet or recommend them to others.

Appointment was easily set up, one cancellation, ( of two ), was also done easily. The staff was great and welcoming to us and Toby, (dog), and their handling of him was great. After he was trimmed they made recommendations and complimented his behavior and looks. All in all, a good experience!

My dog loves Cathy P and she always does a fab groom. Dog is high strung but Cathy calms him down and he is picture perfect when I pick him up.

I was nervous to send my girls to a groomer they didn't know, but Cat was very good with them and also called me to inform me of the delay. Coco & Appa both look and feel great, they will be returning to see Cat.
