The Pawlor Salon & Spa - Dog Grooming Oakland

I moved to Oakland recently and picked the Pawlor Salon and Spa because of their great reviews! They definitely did not disappoint! I was able to make a same day appointment, they did a fantastic job with grooming him (his haircut was perfect and just how I asked!), and they sent us a grooming report and before and after photos too!

I adopted an elderly poodle a few years ago and have struggled to find a groomer that knows how to handle Poodle hair … until now. Leon did an amazing job with my pup, Louis! He took care of all the tricky spots like feet, ears and face - and made him look beautiful! I also really appreciated that Leon took time to find out what we were looking for and going over what to expect in terms of communication and timing. Great experience all around and we’ll be back!

My baby is seven months old. I searched for dog haircuts on Google and Yelp and finally found one just a five-minute walk from my shop. I made an appointment. Arrow (I'm not sure if I spelled his name correctly) answered many of my questions on the phone. I appreciate his patience. My puppy has severe separation anxiety, so I was worried he'd get upset without me. So, I paid an extra $30 to schedule an appointment, and they cut my dog's hair right away (no need to wait in line). Once we got there, the hairstylist, Leo, patiently asked me what I wanted my dog's haircut to be. Overall, the people there were very friendly, and Leo's skills are incredible. Just look at the before-and-after photos—my baby looks even more handsome! When I picked up my dog, they even waived the $30! Absolutely amazing! I'll definitely be back!

This was my pup’s very first time being groomed at a shop, and I was honestly more nervous than she was about leaving her. She had some mats around her collar area since I had gone past her usual grooming time, but the team here did such an amazing job with her. Not only does she look adorable, but she came out happy, calm, and clearly well cared for. The staff were so kind, patient, and answered all of my questions. They even painted her little nails, and she looked absolutely adorable! 💕💕💕💕💕 Thank you!!!

As a dog parent, The Pawlor Salon & Spa is a dream business to have in your neighborhood — like when your dog (who you bring to the office) rolls in something foul at the park. Pawlor took pity on us then, and is there for us always, super accommodating, super friendly, super good at what they do.

I am so thrilled to have found Pawlor. This groomer is KENNEL FREE! — your dog mingles with friends while waiting to be groomed or picked up. When I arrived at the salon, I was greeted by happy dogs who were behind the counter but definitely out and about. I assumed they were the owner's dogs but Aaron, one of the owners, explained that they are a kennel-free environment and that if your dog is anxious or doesn't mix well with other dogs, they are separated into different holding areas, but never in a kennel, which keeps them relaxed for their grooming. I LOVE that. Ryann, one of the groomers, took my dog Freddy but not before asking his name first. Everyone was SUPER friendly and they were definitely dog people — Ryann was cradling a little dog in her arms as we were chatting later. (The other groomer I've taken my dog to never ever asked what my dog's name was, nor did he ever greet or interact with my dog, which made me suspicious.) Pawlor's grooming tables are also out in the front of the shop, not hidden in the back so you can see what they're doing at all times. Highly recommend.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. It always smells good inside the store and is very clean. They take great care of my dog, and he loves his spaw days there.
