Steffies House Small Dog Grooming Boarding Daycare

My partner and I boarded our three miniature schnauzers with Steffie for 10 days over the Thanksgiving holiday. Steffie was extremely accommodating with arranging pick up and drop off, and was even available on short notice. While our dogs were with her she provided a groom as well and she did a great job. Steffie is very transparent about the expectations she has of the dogs she cares for, which as a pet owner put me at ease knowing how seriously she takes her business. She provided plenty of photos and updates and our dogs loved their time with her. We would book with Steffie again in a heartbeat.

Straight up best nail trim in the city. I’ve never had a groomer take the time to dremmel them down so well, and my boy Arlo is relatively anxious.

Only accepts neutered dogs friendly enough but sorry I don't agree with mutilating animals.

Great close-in SE location, easy to schedule with. Steffie has been available to do both grooming and boarding on short notice. She is quick to respond to text messages. Our dog is a small poodle/terrier mix. She is very kind to our dog and talks to him as she is grooming him to keep him calm. Steffie has been listening to music while she works when I've gone there, which did not bother our dog at all but is worth knowing and you would want to mention it to her if your dog is upset by loud music. She loves dogs and it shows - she talks to them a lot and when boarding dogs will take care of them like they are her own. Her place is a little funky/quirky but it's cozy for the dogs and easy-going. I think she primarily works with smaller dogs.

I've been taking my 7 mo old puppy Chloe to Steffies for a few times now. All the other dogs are about her size (20lbs), and Chloe can't wait to get out of the car to play with the team . I really appreciate Steffies flexibility with my odd hours. The price is right, it's near my home, and it has more of a homey feel to it than regular dog day cares. It's great socialization for my dog, I love it, so does she!

Please do not bring your dogs to Steffies House. It is not a safe or healthy place for your pets. We brought our puppy there once for a nail trim because we live nearby. Though Steffie did a fine job with the nail trimming, she was rude when we booked the appointment and the grooming space did not seem optional or professional. We referred to it from there on out as Steffies House of Horrors and vowed never to return. However, we were forced to do so this week when we found two dogs running around in our front yard. Thanks to the Home Again service, we were able to connect with the dogs’ owners, who were shocked to learn that their dogs were not at the day care where they’d left them that morning. Yes, you guessed it: Steffies House. The two dogs had chewed through the fence and escaped and were now running through the neighborhood, terrified. When we returned the dogs to Steffies House, she took a long time to open the door and had no idea that they were even gone. Accidents happen, and dogs can panic when they are stressed or in an unusual place. However, based on my two experiences with Steffies House, I would encourage caring pet owners to take their business elsewhere. It isn't worth the risk.

Steffie is great, she asked a bunch of questions to make sure she knew what I wanted my dog to look like, was great with my senior dog, and fit him in her schedule with zero notice. 1 hour later my little guy looked great and was happy. Which is no small feat as he hates strangers. If you have a small dog and you want him/her to look great, bring your lovey here, she's good at what she does!
