Dirty Dogs Mission Valley

We were loooong time customers of the Hillcrest location (and Solana beach even before that!) and after some pretty major scheduling issues/last minute cancellations, we moved on for a bit. When we saw the new-ish mission valley location, we decided to give DD another shot, and glad we did! Samantha did our dogs cuts and did a great job, following our requests and seemingly kind/patient with our anxious pups. We also LOVED the bows and bow ties! We will be back!

I’ve been a repeat customer at this grooming salon and have generally been happy, but my most recent experience was concerning. After my dog’s appointment, she began itching persistently, and I later found what appears to be a cut. I contacted the groomer after monitoring the cut and sent photos, but they denied that it could have happened during the appointment and suggested it occurred earlier. I’m confident the issue started after the grooming visit. I’m disappointed not only by the injury but by how the situation was handled. I would have appreciated more accountability and concern. I’m sharing this so other pet owners can make informed decisions.

I really like this place. The people working there were very friendly and took wonderful care of my dog Fern while he was getting groomed. James, our groomer, did exactly as I asked which was greatly appreciated. I’ve had previous groomers not want to buzz cut him (understandable) but they were totally fine with it. My big dog can be a lot to handle, but James did a fantastic job. We will be back again!

Caitlyn took care of my Mia for a grooming. Mia has prior trauma from a previous place and shes just very sensitive to be honest. My sister said that she tucked her tail in when she dropped her off. But Caitlyn really left a great impression on me when I had previously inquired. I was being really annoying about her care because I had a bad experience with a different company and she really made me feel reassured enough to bring Mia in. This location is really nice and the staff doesn't judge you. They just assist and they are so nice. The customer service is wonderful. I let Caitlyn know that it was okay if they couldn’t get to Mia's nails or if Mia was stressed out, that it was okay as long as she had a pleasant experience. Caitlyn did just that! She called me as soon as she was done and let me know that Mia was stressed but she did what she could so she had a good experience. That really meant a lot to me. She was very understanding and made me feel reassured. My sister picked and dropped off Mia up and said that her groomer was really really nice. Ill be coming back for sure because I know they’ll do just what Mia can handle and handle her with care. Thank you Caitlyn!

I went to the Del Mar location and honestly, I wasn’t happy with the customer service. I enjoyed washing my dog, but I left thinking I’d never come back. Then I decided to give another chance to a different location because I really do love the concept of this business, and I’m SO glad I did! The Mission Valley location completely changed my experience. From the moment I walked in, Katelyn was so welcoming and attentive, always checking in to see if I needed anything. Her kindness and positive energy made my day. The location itself is super clean, and I love that they even have steps for the dogs! I highly recommend the Mission Valley Dirty Dog. I’m so happy I gave it another try. Thank you, Katelyn, for showing what great customer service looks like. Businesses need more people like you!

This business owner must not need business that bad. I went to this location in Mission Valley on a Wednesday at 645 to do a self dog wash. The sign says they close at 7 pm. The two female workers said the last wash is a 6:30. Because everyone needs to be out of the store by 7 so they can start cleanup. I told them I will only take ten minutes but they said no. Looks like they just want to get the clean up done and get out of there. Bad way to to business.

We have been bringing our dog to James, a groomer at Dirty Dogs, for over a year now and have always been very pleased! Our dog had a very traumatic life before we adopted him and more than a few, less experienced groomers were not able to work on him. James’ calming energy and pro skills have made our dog’s experience at the groomer so much less stressful and he looks amazing after every appointment. Thank you, James!
