The Barking Lot of Hillcrest

Mo is absolutely amazing with both of our dogs. One of them is a senior who hates getting her nails done and the other is special needs and can get anxious, but Mo always takes extra good care of them and makes sure they feel safe and comfortable. I also love that he only takes one dog at a time so they never have to sit around and wait. His prices are very affordable and he is always so quick without ever rushing the care. Mo truly takes dogs of all needs and ages and is incredibly friendly and communicative throughout the whole process. It was so hard for me to find a groomer willing and able to work with my distemper survivor, but I am beyond grateful that I found Mo and I am never looking back.

When I first went to pick my dog up I was happy with the grooming. He was a bit more frantic than usual but I dismissed it because he doesn't particularly like being groomed. However, when we returned home, I discovered that my dog's dew claw had been completely ripped off (picture attached). I understand that occasionally nicks and other things happen during grooming, but this is a big deal and Mo said nothing about it at pickup which is unacceptable. This resulted in a $200+ vet bill; we will not be back.

I know other reviews said they’re quick but I was blown away they finished my 70lb doodle in 1 hour! Our previous groomer took 4-5 hours. Super impressed and they were very sweet with him!

This was our first time going to Mo and he did a fantastic job grooming our boy Zeus! Mo seemed very kind and genuine from the moment I dropped Zeus off! Zeus looked very cute when I picked him up and seemed very relaxed and happy! The best part was Zeus was done in under 2 hours, most places keep them all day for sometimes 6-8 hours, but not here! It was also effortlessly easy to book an appointment through their online portal system! Very fair prices as well for being in the heart of San Diego! I am very happy with our experience and can’t wait to have Mo also groom our goldendoodle Ollie! We have found our new local groomer for sure!

This place is HORRIBLE. Took my dog in for first time and was told she needs a total shave because she is matted. Not! My dog gets groomed and bathed every three weeks. Only reason I went here is my former groomer closed her business. Now I understand reviews that say this place is so fast. They lie and just want to shave every dog. Come on!

Feel so lucky to have found Mo! After several not so great grooming experiences, we’ve found our go to spot. Mo always makes Milo feel welcome. He is so efficient and thoughtful in his work, even when Milo gives him a hard time. Highly recommend!

We absolutely adore the Barking Lot! We have been bringing our pup to Mo for about two years and will not take our dog anywhere else. Mo and Hadi take the best care of our pup, and are so quick! They are always on time and always make us feel welcomed and special. We have an Aussiedoodle, and it can be easy to make them look silly after a grooming, but Mo and Handi know how to groom this type of breed. Our boy, Mookie, can be a handful, and they make him feel calm and treat him with love and patience. We cannot recommend Barking Lot more!
