PetSmart Grooming

I usually have a great experience, but today was awful. I called the grooming salon to set up an appointment for my baby Princess and they kept hanging the phone up on me. So around the 5 or 6 time I called I said to one of the ladies is something wrong why are y'all hanging up the phone on me. Once again I get the dail tone. I'm one of the nicest person u would ever want to meet. But now I'm starting to get upset. It was different young ladies each time. I had to call my husband at work and asked him to call and make her appointment to get Princess groom. Wow. He had no problem. The funniest thing is I'm the nice gentle one without a mean bone in my body. We just a house in Waldorf and we are new to the area and I decided instead of taking her all the way back to Laurel ,MD let's fine a place up here. Well My husband may continue to bring her, but if I half to , sorry to say I will be going elsewhere.

I had my dog groomed yesterday 08.29.23. Usually when I get her groomed she came back smelling good. This time the groomers did not use any. But that’s not the main issue. I swear there’s something wrong with my dogs back left leg and she now has a bruise on the side of her neck from clippers.

I had a bad experience because I paid for them to brush my baby hair and they cut it and both times I used them she was very skittish after and had two ear infections immediately after. I will never go back. Also the customer service was horrible, they act as if they were doing me a favor, it's not a favor if I pay for a service. Now we go to All Paws Veterinarian in Brandywine, they are amazing! You get what you ask for and my baby doesn't have ear infections anymore!

I’ve been taking my dog here for a while and we haven’t had any issues with them until today. I brought my dog in at 11:30 and they told me to give them 4 hours to groom him which is pretty standard. I wait 5 hours and I hear nothing back so I head over there to see if maybe he was done and they just couldn’t reach me. By the time I get over there, it has now been 5 and a half hours and the most he’s gotten done is a bath and blow dry (he was not even fully dry when I got there might I add). The groomer who was meant to do his haircut asks for another hour which was crazy to me because it was already nearing 6 hours he had been there. I decided to just take him home because he has very bad anxiety which I have told them before. I understand sometimes people get behind but I truly don’t believe you need almost 7 hours to groom a 12 pound mini poodle. I don’t know if they do this already but they need to prioritize grooming the dogs that have appointments so that they can be done first. And to top it off, as soon as we get home, he’s so thirsty that he drinks two full bowls of water. I would think they’d at least give these dogs something to drink after hours of being in a confined space.

The store manager will just casually accuse you of moving merchandise to the clearance area if you grab something from the rack that didn’t belong there. I find it offensive that this is a managers response to a guest requesting a price check. Unprofessional and a lack of perspective from the guest point of view. I’ve been coming here for years and have had one dog trained here. I will honestly never be coming back to this franchise for any of y future pets needs.

Awful! First time having my Golden Doodle puppy groomed. They charged me over 80 dollars for a shampoo and puppy trim (no body just sanitation areas). The groomer also told me that my puppy was growling and aggressive. This may have been his first time at a groomer but he had been getting bathed since we have had him (10 weeks). They cut a strange hole in the area below his tail. Sanitation areas were not cut! Before I took him away I asked did they cut his nails (which I had paid for) she says "no I forgot"….took him back and made his nails sharp and uneven. Do not take your dog to this place!

Three different appointments, three different experiences, and nothing consistent except my confusion. I make the appointments and my husband picks up the dog. I don’t know which one was more irritating, the one where they charged us for a yorkie full spa experience and haircut or when I payed for them to grind down his nails and they not only didn’t grind them, the nail trim was BAD and he had hangnails! I didn’t know dogs could have hangnails. His little claws were all jacked up. Oh btw, he’s a pitbull. Not a yorkie. The manager of the petsmart is nothing but lovely and helpful. This review is specifically related to the service, not the people.
