Dogtopia of Alexandria

Been bringing my fur baby here for daycare for almost six years. The staff is really friendly and most importantly, my dog LOVES it. The dogs are separated by size which I like and there are cameras to see in the room. I never worry about him when I am at work and that is invaluable.

My dog is happiest after a full day of play at Dogtopia of Alexandria. Every employee has genuine interest in and care for my dog when I drop off/pick up. The livestreamed rooms during the day let me see my pet is having fun and being well cared for. I would highly recommend this business to anyone with a dog or considering getting a dog.

We can't say enough positive things about Dogtopia at Alexandria- the business, the facility, the manager, the team! It is not perfect but you decide what you make out of a business and what energy you bring to it. It took us a few weeks to get all the paperwork to get our beagle started, we were frustrated BUT they were doing things right, so we had to be patient. If you give it 1 star because they do not offer a military discount, you should have taken into consideration that there is a cost to owning a dog, and you can't expect a discount everywhere just because. I don't ask for a discount for being a single dad. If your dog was in a scruff and the team acted fast to take your pup to the vet AND Dogtopia covered the cost, be THANKFUL. Accidents happen but a crappy attitude is optional. Turnover: My dog went to Dogtopia for about a year and a half. The 7 employees that were there when my dog started going, were still there when she stopped going 1.5 years later, so not sure what turnover rate a customer was complaining about. It is irritating how people just love to complain. The team at Dogtopia is the best, they are CARING, genuinely nice, and they love what they do. Even after my beagle stopped going, I get messages checking up on her. We love Dogtopia and our pup can't wait to be back.

We love Dogtopia of Alexandria! We have been bringing our Corgi for 3 years. The team has consistently treated our little guy with warmth, love, and affection from day one. He often resists going home because of the doting attention he receives from the staff. My husband and I also appreciate the live feed webcam. It makes the workday fly by and gives us peace of mind when we board him there. Would enthusiastically recommend the team to anyone looking for a doggy daycare! Special shout out to Connie, Blanca, Maia, and Emma for all their help at drop off and pick up.

Our dogs were boarding for over a week. When we picked up our dogs after their stay, we noticed that the smaller one had a great deal of yellowish discharge from her right eye as well as dried discharge on her eyelashes. We understand that infections can occur with dogs during boarding stays, our issue is that this condition was not brought to our attention by staff. We don’t expect your staff to have skills to diagnose and treat illnesses, however implicit in the onboarding discussion was the assurance that any health issues would be clearly communicated by staff. An eye condition can be as simple as a mild infection or something more serious as an ulcer. This is clearly a failure to monitor our dogs properly and to communicate with us about their condition, which does not instill a degree of trust to either use your services in the future or to recommend them to clients. When we talked to them about it, we were asked to email the manager and of course no one ever followed up with us.

I love Dogtopia 💗 These guys take great care of my pup and, they send text updates on how he’s doing while away from me. I love the energy in this place and it’s well kept and clean. Thanks guys for making my pup feel welcome and great while under your care! He gets so much play time (which he LOVES) and comes back home ready for a nap!!

NEVER BRING YOUR PET HERE - would give NEGATIVE STARS if I could. I received a message about my dog being in a "scuffle," turns out Dogtopia staff had escorted her to the vet, where they proceeded to operate on her, resulting in a $1000 MEDICAL BILL. This happened around 9:30 am, right after I dropped her off. The staff onsite lied and said they were reaching out to the manager, but the manager later confirmed no one contacted her so I was left with no information for over 2 hours while my dog was at the vet being stitched up. Mine and my dog’s quality of life has not been the same since Dogtopia Alexandria’s APPALLING FAILURE to provide the service they promise. My dog needed stitches and a cone for 10 days because of this place. Turnover is high - every week there is a new set employees, and overall this place cares more about cash than the safety of the pets. The owner has several locations in NoVA - AVOID THEM ALL.
