Mountain View Dog Ranch

Our dog had the time of her life here! I really appreciated getting the photo updates on an almost daily basis. She isn’t usually in boarding environments so she was a little confused in her room, but the staff sat with her and gave her lots of love to calm her down. Super appreciated from an anxious dog dad 🙂 They’ve got seperate housing and play areas for pups that are more shy/don’t mix well with others which I thought was really nice. They’ve thought everything through and the property is gorgeous. Really easy drop off and pickup as well! The only thing to note is they don’t accept online payments, don’t send invoices in advance, and the paperwork was all done on hard copies. Definitely old school but didn’t cause any problems for us. $70 a night is a great rate for what you’re getting. We’ll be back!!

Friendly, personable staff, but the booking process can seem a little daunting (probably due to their limited WiFi connectivity). They allow room sharing, their rooms have a/c, give plenty of off leash play time, and posted pictures almost daily. We will definitely bring our dogs back.

This may be the best boarding place in the world. Lovely green pastures surrounded by mountains and a caring staff guided by a knowledgeable and dedicated owner who loves dogs and helps every dog feel comfortable and at home. My dog had a been going here for over 5 years and it truly is like his second home.

Update 2024: Last summer (July 2023), Kylo stayed here for almost a month. After first week, Kylo ran too much, too fast, and pulled a muscle. They were super awesome in notifying us as soon as they noticed he was limping. Christine drove Kylo to our regular vet, OVER AN HOUR AWAY, and ensured he got his medication and everything. After that, for several days, Kylo had to be on leash cause he was too excited and Christine took care of it all. We will never leave Kylo with any other place, Mountain View Dog Ranch is his vacation home and vacation family. Original: Our dog Kylo was boarded here and he loved it! They were very good with ensuring his environment was kept as much intact as possible with his bed and feeder etc. we got the attached pictures as well during his stay as part of his status update. He also got an exit bath which ensured he was nice and clean at the end of his stay.

Update… the only email I received in two weeks. Sounded like she was doing ok. Instead they are claiming it was so extreme, basically an emergency, but doesn’t call me, I could have had someone pick her up! I have a vet bill now for a staph infections on her stomach and her neck, This place did not care about my dog, did not notice or communicate that there was an issue. They wanted the money and not to have her stay end early. Should have never paid!!! Posting the vet bill with the date. Do not board here!!! Zero communication other than a couple photos they post once in a while. My dog has anxiety and doesn’t do well being alone in her room, I was emailing constantly to get some sort of update! Gone for two weeks. I received one response! Now the worst part, I picked up my dog, she was filthy, her bed and toys, filthy! She has patches of infected looking skin! Hair loss and needed medical attention immediately! I paid $1050 for boarding!! At a facility who didn’t look after her or see that something was wrong! Filthy conditions and my dog with skin infections! am awaiting the vet appointment for tomorrow.

We have boarded our Golden here many, many times. He is a strong, healthy boy (not on any meds) and is super happy when we pick him up. He does get a little smelly. We don’t get much communication but they are starting to post pictures to a Google photo album. They have had issues with people not paying in the past so they are now cash or check only and have an ATM on site. Hopefully they will add website payment at some point. We boarded with a kennel in Oregon that was highly recommended by our breeder and got even less communication but our pup was fine so perhaps that is the norm for busy places.

They genuinely care about and spend time getting to know my dogs. The staff really wants the dogs to be happy and takes excellent care of my boys. It is like a resort for dogs and I feel like I am sending them on vacation when I bring them there and that makes leaving them so much easier.
