Salty Dawg Pet Salon + Bakery - Westside Atlanta

On 12/22/25 , I dropped my dog off at Salty Dogs Atlanta for a routine shampoo and tidy trim. I’ve been bringing him here since he was a puppy, so this was extremely disappointing. I then seen they were under new management. I was told one of his toenails "fell off in the kennel," and the manager suggested my dog might have a disease causing this WHICH is completely UNTRUE , as he is very healthy. My dog was acting very out of character when I picked him up. I was still charged $80, and later had to take my dog to the emergency vet for an expensive ER visit because his paw would not stop bleeding. HIS TOE NAIL WAS TAKEN OFF PASS THE QUICK , which is very dangerous. Management has not returned any of my call NOR EMAILS… so this is the last resort. NO TYPE OF GROOMING WAS DONE OUTSIDE IF BLOWDRY… I would not recommend bringing your pets to Salty Dogs Atlanta. MY DOG IS VERY TRAUMATIZED BY WHAT HAPPEN, he shakes in his sleep. EVEN TO THIS DAY!

I really appreciate the service, but I wasn't entirely happy with how Stomi was groomed. Her coat was trimmed a bit too short, and there are some small gaps in her fur. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it won’t be the right fit for us moving forward. Makayla was her groomer.

Just want to give the staff and Emily the biggest praise for the magnificent work she did on my baby Aritzia. This was her first haircut at just 4 months old, and I seriously can’t stop staring at her little fluff 😍. Everyone at Salty Dawg Pet Salon was so friendly, kind, and respectful, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell they truly care about the pets they work with. I will definitely be booking again!

I have called twice. First time just left name and number second time I left more information about my dog. I was excited the when I saw a groomer so close to my house. My dog is a senior and blind and deaf and I am a senior on a very limited budget so I wanted more info. If they would be willing to take her and how much they charged. Never got a call back. 2 weeks is plenty of time. After reading the other reviews I now understand it is better I didn't . I will continue to look for a groomer .

I found my forever groomer and if you want an actual teddy bear cut, you’d request MAKAYLA. I’ve followed her from another salon and will always because no one seems to do a good teddy bear cut. Someone told me to try Hakim but although I see good potential for him to practice more on a teddy bear face, Makayla always provides and my Sadie always looks so cute (picture of her groom a couple days after STILL PERFECT)

Absolutely worth never going to a chain again. I have never experienced a "de-shedding" treatment that ACTUALLY worked, but when I picked my dog up, he was SHEDLESS. For a Pomeranian(mix), that is amazing. Gorgeous haircut and a super nice staff. Will definitely be back! Look at his little feet <3

I would not recommend this grooming service. I brought my dog in for a full grooming package, which totaled $120 (with a $20 first-time discount). Unfortunately, the haircut was very disappointing—it was uneven, choppy, and lacked a clean, polished finish. I was initially told the appointment would take 3–4 hours, but they finished in just 2 hours. When I picked my dog up, he was still slightly damp, which made it clear the service was rushed. Overall, not worth the time or money.
