My sweet 10 year old rescue had her first professional grooming experience because the tub and towel dry is just not cutting it anymore. She was nervous going in but came out happy looking so fresh and clean! We have a tough time with her nails and they look the best they ever have when I picked her up. A nice shiny coat and all the shedding fur is gone. She also came out with the cutest bandana! Communication is excellent and I feel fairly priced for services. I also appreciate how easy it was to establish a booking as a new client online.
We’ve been bringing our Leo to Salty Paw for over two years. When leaving Leo for his bath/grooming , Sarah always warmly greets us and our dog. On pick up, he is always calm and smelling " so fresh and so clean". Sarah does a great job with his coat, ears and paws. She is also conscientious of time and lets us know if she is running late and when Leo ready. We’ve been to other groomers in the area and in my opinion, Sarah is the best!
I visited Salty Paw Spa to do our own spa services. So worth the money! My 70 pound lab is getting too big to heave into our tub and thought I would try this. They give you a face soap and a bottle of body soap. The sprayer and tub stall are awesome -- and adjust to your height. When we were done we dried her with their towels, a quick blow dry, and off we went. No fur to clean out of my tub / my bathroom floors. No towels/laundry to clean! She was even given a treat by the spa on the way out. So ridiculously worth the money!
My parents brought our family dog here and it is safe to say we will never bring him here again. I would also advise doing some research before bringing your dog here. My parents paid $107 in services in which some of them weren’t even completed- and our dog came back afraid and not okay. The dog did not look like the same dog that they dropped off. He’s typically very good at the groomers, but after this trip he is even afraid of the brush. It was absolutely unacceptable how he came back to us- with Knicks all over his body and even bald spots around his neck. There’s patches of long fur still under his arms, and they even cut his WHISKERS OFF. Upon picking up the dog, the groomer took a while to bring him out and was already putting excuses before we got to see the dog. There were signs of abuse especially with how afraid our puppy came out of the groomer. We will be notifying the Massachusetts animal division as well, as this was unacceptable. Photos don’t do justice with all of the razor marks, but I also included before pictures so you can see how we dropped him off…
Overall bath and haircut came out nicely the smell of the wash is a little weird. The place itself was really messy when you walked in, just stuff and merchandise scattered everywhere. There was no one at the front to greet you or check you in. Claimed that my dog bit her, (hes never bitten anyone in his entire life and she didn't show me ) But I know that things happen and if he got a aggressive I wouldn't know because I wasn't there so I said okay. I was also charged a fee for that which is understandable but no proof was given that my dog was aggressive or bit his groomer. I don't think I'd go back. The business itself is not super professional. The groomer did a good job but the overall vibe of the place and groomer just wasn't great.
Took my dog for a bath and nail trim. I was very clear about him being nervous, as that’s the feedback I’ve gotten from our typical groomer. I first asked her to not blow dry him as it’s not good for his skin and coat. I asked for a towel dry instead. She insisted that she has to blow dry him and the information I was provided by my sister and law (who has shown Chesapeakes for over 15 years) was wrong. He was there for 3 hours and came back wet and not one of his nails were trimmed. "He kept flailing" was what she said. Not once in his 5.5 years of being alive has any groomer had trouble cutting his nails. At pickup, she charged me the full price, even though he she didn’t finish the job. The only good feedback I have is that he came back soft, and happy to be home.
This was a terrible experience for my dog and my family. 1. My dog was dropped off for a 1:00 appointment and was not done by 5:15. I was sent a text saying more time was needed and he shouod be ready 5:30/6pm. However, I had a 6:30 appointment and need to grab him at 5:15. As you can see from the pictures below 45 minutes would not have changed the outcome of this. **We have had him groomed elsewhere and he is done within 3 hours** 2. The groomer was NEVER told to shave my dog, yet when I picked him up a quarter of him was shaved. A portion near his back-end was shaved to the skin causing him irritation. With his breed, clippers should not be used on his fur. He should have been fully brushed out and scissors used to give him a good trim. 3. When my husband spoke to the groomer/owner she blamed my dog's grooming experience on me. She took no ownership of how she groomed the dog and as a professional she should have known that you do not shave a Pyrenees ever! She offered no reimbursement for the terrible experience as she made me pay before she brought my dog out to me. 4. The owner/groomer wanted us to bring the dog back to her 3 days after the initial grooming so she could finish him, however that was not going to happen with how butchered his initial session was. 5. I called the groomer/owner expressing what an awful experience it was for everyone involved and that I wanted a refund. I even told her she could keep $25 for the nail cut she did on my other dog, but I wanted to be reimbursed for the incomplete and awful grooming job of my Pyr. I have not received a call back nor my refund. Absolutely do not recommend this establishment. ***As an edit of additional information, I called this groomer twice after this experience, on 8/7/2025 and 8/14/2025 to have a conversation about it and get a refund for the improper and incomplete grooming of my dog. She has NOT returned the call and basically scammed us out of $180. Terrible business etiquette.
