Rub A Dub Dub Dog Grooming and Spa

We have always had a great experience here. Staff always greets us and makes sure we are helped. We specifically came to Rub A Dub Dub for our groomer Kisha. She is the best! We had trouble with our Yorkie-poo Terrier (Tank) going to the groomer. He would nip and bite anyone that would touch his paws. Kisha was a lifesaver for us. She took the time to get to know Tank and was able to not only touch his paws but trim his nails. Every time since then we have taken him to see her. We recently got a golden doodle and she takes the time to trim his wildness (fur) as well. We would trust no one else to take care of our pups. Thank you for all you do.

Scout and Sarge went in for a neaten up today. Leo the groomer did a fantastic job! It took a little bit longer than expected but totally understandable and worth the wait.

Absolutely horrible experience. I took my mini goldendoodle in for a normal trim, and they completely shaved him down to the skin "on accident." He came back with around 20 cuts across his stomach and private areas. I was told the owner would call me to resolve the situation, that never happened. Appointments are never on time, the management is unorganized, and overall the entire experience has been terrible.

This is the third place we have tried and the best grooming experience so far. The groomer was thorough. Scheduling was quick and efficient. Professional service. Our family dog was pampered. We will definitely be returning to this doggie spa.

Edit: A week or two later… So, I am changing my review a little because Tim the owner got ahold of me and resolved the situation, refunded my money back and then got us in for a free grooming and our pup was saved! lol Took our Cavapoo pup in for a grooming. She is 9 months just about and still had her puppy fur and was looking rough. BUT she came out looking worse!! It took nearly 2 hours for her to finish this?! On top of making us pay for boarding when we went to pick her up and we were running late to church, yet she wasn’t even ready so they made us pay for boarding! One star doesn’t even do it justice! This is utterly ridiculous! She is botched and nothing was done except buzzing on her bottom, belly and legs?! I am outraged! Oh also she was cut in her nipples and belly a little!

This review is worth the read…. Very honest and stated facts. I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this review, as we have used this groomer consistently since 2019. Over the years, our dog has been groomed by at least 6-7 different individuals, possibly more. The turnover has always been high, and we’ve never been able to keep the same groomer for more than a year. Because of that, I make a point to explain our dog’s grooming preferences each time, but no one has ever taken notes or added anything to her file to my knowledge because when I have asked there were no notes in your profile. As a result, every groom ends up slightly different, and we have to start from scratch at each appointment. In 2022, a few days after a grooming, our dog had her annual vet visit. During the exam, the vet told us her anal glands were very swollen and irritated. I was surprised because expressing the glands was included in the grooming service. The vet had to perform the procedure instead. I reached out to Rub-a-Dub-Dub right away and was connected with the owner. He reviewed the video of the grooming and confirmed the glands were not expressed. To make it right, he refunded that groom, credited our next one, and even offered to cover the vet bill. I declined the vet reimbursement because I still felt someone needed to be paid for the service. Because the owner took responsibility and handled it well, we chose to continue using them. Fast forward to November 2025, the exact same situation happened again. I contacted the owner on November 25, 2025. He responded quickly, said he would review the footage, and told me he would follow up that afternoon. When I didn’t hear back, I texted again the next day. No reply. I reached out one more time on December 5 and never received a response. I still have all the text threads. After being a loyal customer since 2019, the lack of communication was disappointing, especially since this was a repeat of a documented issue from a few years prior. It also made me wonder how many other times this might have happened without us knowing simply because we didn’t have a vet appointment right after a groom. Because of all this, we’ve decided to bring our business elsewhere. It’s unfortunate, as we stayed with them for years, but we no longer feel confident continuing with their services.

I’ve contemplated whether or not to share my experience and the more I think about it I feel I should. Yesterday I got my dog groomed here for the second time and as mentioned in previous reviews the turnaround is high so I didn’t book with the same person. We live a good 40 min away so I try to make trips to Fort wayne worth it so I booked an oil change on Jefferson at 1245 and the grooming at 1220. I drop my dog off and he says he’s running a little behind so I say ok that’s fine thinking 20 minutes or so, then he said and I also have to leave for 30 minutes during her apt is that ok? Now I’m like what!? You have to leave during a scheduled apt when you’re already running late!? So I say I guess, because what am I going to do? I can’t leave her in my car getting an oil change. He says well if it’s too late you can bring her back to be finished, again I live 40 min away and with gas prices as high as they are it’s not worth it. I leave and get my oil change then kill time at nearby stores, it’s 330 when I call to inquire how much longer (pickup time was suppose to be 240). He said he just finished shaving her so another 45-1 hr for her bath and teeth.so I kill an hour at Marshall’s, then it’s 440 and I still haven’t heard anything so I head there and think I’ll just finish her at home. It’s just short of 5 o’clock when I finally leave with her, but the part that makes me mad is HE CHARGED ME MORE! Everywhere I have gone they charge for a medium dog, she’s 40 lbs and 23 inches tall. She is a goldendoodle but first gen and her fur is not super poodly, it takes us an hr and a half to shave her at home. I’m 8 months pregnant so that’s hard theses days. He says well "she a large dog with the doodle mix so I need to charge for the extra time". ARE YOU JOKING!? YOU WASTED TWO HOURS OF MY TIME AND THEN CHARGE ME EXTRA FOR YOUR LACK OF TIME MANAGEMENT!? We will not be returning if that’s how this place does business.
