PetSmart Grooming

Very disappointed in the grooming service. We brought in our Newfoundland and specifically asked that he NOT be shaved, except sparingly where absolutely necessary, and to blend it with the rest of his coat. Instead, they shaved almost his entire body and his tail. He looks completely uneven, nothing like his breed, and nothing like what we asked for. Not to mention, it’s winter and he now has no coat. This breed should not be shaved like this, and it shows a lack of proper grooming knowledge. We won’t be coming back.

Our dog is the sweetest pup you’ve ever met but he’s 90+lbs. This was his first time getting groomed (surprise they refused him) and I told them he has a lot of anxiety. I get a call 30 minutes later saying he’s "aggressive" and they can’t groom him. Meanwhile they shoved him in a kennel with a bunch of other dogs who were freaking out which in turn exacerbated his anxiety. Maybe they should hire people who aren’t afraid of dogs and understand how to actually interact with them? Absolutely deplorable. Why are you grooming dogs if you’re afraid of them…. I guess they don’t understand that dogs react to fear in humans. My dog has NEVER SHOWED aggression. Would NOT recommend. Also when we walked in we were ignored for 10 minutes. Absolutely not. Avoid like the black plague.

I am very unhappy and disappointed with the grooming process. When you have an appointment, they should be done at the time they are scheduled and not go back and forth between dogs. I had an appointment at 9:30am and was told he should be done by 1:30. I just checked in (at 1:43) and was told he had only been washed so far. I have places to be and things to do. Which is why I had made an appointment. I told them the latest I could pick him up was 3:30. In response I was told they might be able to make him ok to come home by then depending on how he acts. My dog has anxiety issues and I give him medication before these appointments anticipating when he will need them to kick in depending on his scheduled time. Of course he will not be ok by the time you get to cutting him when he has been there for four hours already and now even longer. I do not make appointments for them to groom my dog when it’s convenient for them and I don’t pay for him to come home looking just ok. If there are too many dogs to keep to their scheduled times than maybe they need to schedule less dogs. I will be finding a different groomer.

I let them know my dog was 14 and just lost her litter mate. That she was nervous and her quick of two of her nails are long so pls be careful with those two. I was out in the parking lot and they had called me to tell me that she fell off the table, had a seizure and pottied. I ran back in and the Mgr asked me if they wanted me to take her to the vet. I got Luna out of there. They were nice employees but obviously NOT TRAINED at all. Go use the 10 dollar wash at Tractor Supply instead! Employees are fabulous, have everything u need and some cashiers give treats upon leaving 🙂

My dog has not had any problems with grooming besides some typical anxiety. Five years later we get a first call saying "she's reactive to other dogs and her grooming was not completed. Please reschedule for later". That being said, I left a note stating that my dog is over 100lb and will need extra time and experience; requesting that they should call me in advance to cancel if the groomer wes not comfortable with her size.

The signs say that they do walk-in nail grinds, but every time I go into the salon, the girls say that they don’t have time. So the sign is lying, or….

It took 3 hours to groom our dog but it was worth it! She came back very clean and smooth, they also trimmed her tail a bit to it wasn't so big and bushy. I highly recommend taking your dog here.
