Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Apex

Very upset with how my aussiedoodle pups first groom went. Basically it’s like I threw over $100 away when I could have done a better job myself! First off let me start by they took my payment and tip before bringing my dog out to me. I tipped being optimistic I would be happy with how he looks. Wrong. 2nd they shaved his chest where he was not matted, just simply needed a couple mins to brush it out but instead of doing that decided to shave his chest telling me he was matted there. No he was not! Completely shaved ALL of the hair around his sanitary area! Anyone who knows dogs knows you should never take away all the hair because it helps guide the pee on male dogs. Now he’s constantly peeing everywhere when he goes potty and all over his legs! Third! My dogs haircut wasn’t even ANYWHERE near symmetrical! He had one big chunk of long fur around his left eye but on the right side it was completely cut down! His inside of his front legs were shaved and no consistency there either! One leg was shaved up past his armpit and the other stops before his arm pit. Even the fur around his paws was cut evenly! Basically my dog has a jacked up haircut! More like a whack job. I will never be back.

My Leopold IV, Leo for short is a shy little guy who suffers from severe anxiety. I’m so glad to have such a great groomer who takes his time and makes sure he is comfortable with the trims. They do book up super quickly but that’s because they do such a nice job. Leo always looks great, is super relaxed post hair cut, and has the upmost care at Woofgang bakery in Apex. I’m including some pictures post hair cut because he looks so cute. My pup gets his hair cut every 6-8 weeks because he hates getting his hair brushed so it has to stay short so it doesn’t get too tangled or unruly. Enjoy some pics of my cutest pup post haircut.

In January 2025 our golden retriever suffered a broken leg while being groomed at Woof Gang Apex. The groomer told me he knew that she became anxious when the dryer was near her head, but she was only restrained around the throat and slipped off the table which broke her femur in two. The groomer put her back on the table and completed the grooming. When we told the owners what happened, they opened an insurance claim. We had over $9000 in medical bills to repair Sophie’s leg. Their insurance company offered us $2500 even though we did nothing wrong. We had to hire an attorney. The Insurance company increased their offer to $7500 with no explanation as to why they weren’t covering the cost. After more negotiations between our attorney and their insurance company and us planning to take them to district court they finally covered the medical bills. However it cost us $2700 in legal fees to get that settlement. I discussed this with the owners and they explained to me that they were not going to pay anything toward our legal fees and stopped returning my calls and emails. This has been a bad year for our beloved pet, trips to NC state veterinary hospital and financially. This was a very costly grooming for us.

Love this place. Very profesional, easy to book and ALWAYS happy with the service. Our groomer Claire is amazing and we are always very satisfied with Pancho’s look after her.
